GOP Debate Proves There are Better Choices than Obama

Barack Obama is a colossal failure, probably the biggest failure in recent political history. Friday’s Republican debate demonstrated more than one GOP candidate who could do a much better job.

The consensus was that Mitt Romney did best because he didn’t hurt himself and seemed to have a plan. Newt Gingrich was right about "gotcha questions" and how the media focus on the process rather than ideas that work.

Gingrich said there was something profoundly wrong with the politics of both parties. He’s right, but we’ve heard this before and little changes.

We have a real crisis in this country — unemployment, a crushing debt, loss of confidence, too many wars -- and we’re getting a commission of people who will simply repeat what the 535 members of Congress have already been doing. The only way we will get change we can believe in is to replace those who stand in its way. We can’t do that until November 2012, but we can keep the pressure on those now in charge not to do any more damage.

Parliament was called back to deal with rioting in England. The U.S. Congress should be called back and forced to focus on ways to repair the damage they’ve helped cause, not play the usual political games of class warfare.
