If you are politically conservative and especially if you are a serious Christian, don't you feel that your beliefs and values are always under attack and that you are losing ground? Last week's Supreme Court decision on government health insurance is one example. Here's another.
The Pentagon last week saluted openly homosexual members of the military. One civilian lawyer called on fellow homosexuals to "stretch a little" and become more visible inside the military in the drive for benefits for same-sex couples. The Defense Department still doesn't provide benefits for same-sex couples because federal law still defines marriage as between a man and a woman. But that will change. Give it time and probably not much time.
From public expressions of Christian faith to outlawing of prayers in Jesus' name at city council meetings to the removal of crosses at military cemeteries and so much else, Christian beliefs are under attack as never before in America. And it will get worse. Look it up in scripture.
