Capitalism is Not the Enemy

For the past several days, far-left people have been in the streets of New York and other cities, protesting capitalism. They don't like what CEOs make. The has-been entertainer Roseanne Barr says no one should make more than $100 million, and if they do and refuse to give it to the government, they should be beheaded.

Capitalism isn't the enemy. Capitalism affords the best opportunity of any economic system for people to better themselves if they make right choices. There is not one pie from which all must eat. Capitalism provides a recipe so that everyone can make his or her own pie.

Liberals see capitalism as part of a culture clash where the poor and middle class are doomed to never alter their status. Conservatives see capitalism as a ticket to wherever you want to go, consistent with your talents and desire to work hard.

Conservatives would be in the streets protesting liberalism, except they are too busy working and enjoying capitalism's fruits.
