A Prayer Breakfast and Media Dinner

February 3, 2010

Tonight is our Annual Media Dinner. More than 100 journalists, actors, filmmakers, writers and producers will gather in a Washington hotel to hear three speakers and three sisters proclaim their faith in Jesus Christ and recommend him to others. The audience will include some nationally known names as well as people you have never heard of, all people for whom Christ died.

Tomorrow is the 58th National Prayer Breakfast. More than 3,000 will attend. Some question the usefulness of an event that on occasion falls short of proclaiming the true gospel, which is not works, but Jesus. In my nearly four decade association with the prayer breakfast, I have found that God has used it in ways that bring glory to himself, despite the flaws of all of us associated with it.

Please pray for our dinner tonight, the speakers and receptive hearts and for the breakfast tomorrow, that many will find salvation and those who know Jesus will be encouraged in a world that still rejects him, even though he is what they are really looking for.
