Will Tim Tebow Get a Major League Contract?

Christian athlete and celebrity Tim Tebow is reportedly doing well in his career in baseball with New York Mets minor league affiliate the St. Lucie Mets.

According to The Stream, Tebow currently has a .313 batting average, which is nearly 100 points better than what his batting average had been when he was with the Columbia Fireflies, another Mets minor league affiliate team.

Tebow decided to pursue a career in baseball last year, and although he ultimately hopes to make it to the major leagues, he remains humble and open to God’s plan.

For now, he is enjoying playing the game and increasing his skills.

“I feel more comfortable with my swing, feel more comfortable with my game plan I’m having against pitchers and then just playing more baseball helps, too,” he said recently.

Although Tebow says that engaging in speculation about his chance of signing a major league contract is a “dangerous place to be as an athlete,” that hasn’t stopped the talk.

Will Tebow’s stellar batting average and his already-established celebrity status be enough to get a major league contract?

Critics and fans may continue to speculate, but Tebow has his sights set on something more firm than speculation.

“You don’t want to think about that. I’ve got to think about the here, I’ve got to think about the now, I’ve got to think about what I’m doing. …This journey isn’t just about the destination. It’s about every single day. It’s about the competition against the pitcher. It’s about the camaraderie with my teammates. It’s about enjoying every moment.

Wherever it ends,” he adds, “I’m going to have fun.”
