Trump Explains Who Jesus is to Him in Interview

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump said in a recent interview that Jesus “is somebody I can think about for security and confidence.”

CharismaNews.com reports that reporter Cal Thomas interviewed Trump, asking him, “Who do you say Jesus is?”

In addition to stating that Jesus brings him security and confidence, Trump said that Jesus is “Somebody I can revere in terms of bravery and in terms of courage and, because I consider the Christian religion so important, somebody I can totally rely on in my own mind."

Trump has often stressed that he is Christian, and specifically, Presbyterian. He also stressed this in the interview with Thomas.

“As you know, I am Presbyterian and Protestant. I've had great relationships and developed even greater relationships with ministers. We have tremendous support from the clergy. I think I will be doing very well during the election with evangelicals and with Christians.”

Thomas brought up Trump’s notorious comment about not ever having asked God for forgiveness. In his response, Trump seemed to have changed his mind on his previous avowal.

"I will be asking for forgiveness, but hopefully I won't have to be asking for much forgiveness,” he said.
