Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has appointed a new “liaison for Christian policy,” not long before he is scheduled to meet with 500 evangelical leaders.
According to ChristianToday.com, Trump's new liaison for Christian policy is Frank Amedia of Touch Heaven Ministries in Ohio.
Amedia is described on his website as "an Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Evangelist, Teacher, and Minister in sound biblical doctrine with gifts of knowledge, healing, and discernment... For over two decades, his clarity of vision, prophetic insight, and revelations of the mysteries of the Kingdom of God in the scriptures have been an enormous blessing to a worldwide audience."
Amedia also claims that he used the power of prayer to stop a wave from the 2011 tsunami in Japan from hitting a Hawaiian island where his daughter was.
Trump’s appointment of Amedia as his aid for Christian policy comes almost simultaneously with his announcement that he will hold a closed meeting with as many as 500 evangelical leaders.
The Christian Post reports that the meeting with take place on June 21 in New York City, and will include prominent evangelical leaders such as Dr. Ben Carson and Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.
"Our goal is to be able to have a conversation that could lead to a better understanding of what Donald Trump has to offer to the country," said Perkins, according to Fox News.
"I want to be actively supportive of a candidate who can help turn this nation around. With Trump – I'm not there yet. I hope to be there – but I'm not there right now," Perkins continued.
For his part, Trump has told the leaders, "We're going to take care of you. We're going to work with you. You're going to be very happy. You're going to like President Trump."
