Tips for Jesus Leaves Record $11,000 Tip in Arizona

A man known for his “Tips for Jesus” Instagram has allegedly left an Arizona bartender two tips totaling $11,000.

The Christian Post reports the two bills were both about $419.

Clint Spotleson, a bartender in Phoenix, told The Arizona Republic that the man came in with a woman and ordered Pappy Van Winkle 23.

They tipped Spotleson $1,000.

The couple decided to open another tab, totaling about $90.

"The first one he just filled out and left on the table," Spotleson said. "Then he was like, 'You know, I'll have another round,' Then the second one, he was like, 'Let's have fun with this one.' And he said to his friend, 'Put 10K on this one.' And she was like, 'OK.'"

Spotleson said he split the tip with another bartender, the kitchen staff and a cocktail server.

“It's unreal," Spotelson said. "I am going to the bank now. It is crazy, absolutely crazy. And its cool too, because I've been having some car issues."

The man is thought to be Jack Selby, PayPal vice president. He is said to leave a tip between 250 to 600 percent of the bill. Most of his tips documented on the Tips for Jesus Instagram account range from $2,500 to $7,000.
