Seahawks' Russell Wilson Says God Made Him Throw 4 Interceptions for 'Dramatic' Comeback against Green Bay

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said Sunday that the four interceptions he threw in the game against Green Bay were arranged by God to make the team’s comeback more dramatic. The Huffington Post reports that the team overcame Wilson’s poor performance, taking a 28-22 victory over the Packers.

Wilson said, "That's God setting it up, to make it so dramatic, so rewarding, so special. I've been through a lot in life, and had some ups and downs. It's what's led me to this day."

Several news outlets responded to Wilson’s words with cynicism.

"Russell Wilson’s crying isn’t quite as endearing when he is pinning the blame of his failures on God," the Chicago Sun Times wrote.

Deadspin pushed the envelope further writing, "Russell Wilson's just out here throwing God under the bus! If God was actually one of Russell Wilson's teammates, he'd be publicly demanding a trade right now."

The BLAZE reports Wilson is actually a devout Christian who often posts Christ-glorifying statements to his Twitter page.

Prior to Sunday’s game Wilson wrote, “All my hope is in You Jesus! You are my anchor that is never shaken!”
