Real Life Giant to Play Goliath in Upcoming Film

Canada’s tallest man will be playing the role of Goliath in the upcoming “David and Goliath” movie. The BLAZE reports that director Tim Chey did not want to use CGI imitation to create the illusion of a giant; they were looking for a real human being. After searching for someone who literally fit the measurements, the production team found Jerry Sokoloski, the man holding the Guiness world record for Canada’s largest man and biggest hands.

Chey said, “Jerry was a tremendous blessing. We didn’t want to create a CGI imitation like ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and so our casting directors set out to find the biggest guy and he’s very big.”

Sokoloski is 7 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 450 pounds. He is a former basketball player and wrestler, and became an actor after his sports career ended.

“Goliath stood at nine feet,” Chey said. “So Jerry was about a foot and four inches shorter than the real thing. He adds an incredible, realistic dimension.”

Chey, a former atheist turned Christian convert said that he is planning a film that will be “biblically correct.”

“I want to show more of the cruelty of who the Philistines were and who Goliath was through historical data. Also, I want to flesh out the powerful fear Goliath instilled on Saul’s army. Also David’s brothers — the incredible tears they must have shed knowing the little brother was going to take on the 9-foot warrior. It could have been a Shakespearean tragedy, but turned into a victory through God,” he said.
