Protesters and pro-life advocates will gather outside nearly 200 Planned Parenthood clinics this Saturday to protest abortion and to support efforts to defund the organization.
According to The Christian Post, the protests are being organized by #ProtestPP which is a coalition of pro-life groups including Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Created Equal, and the Pro-Life Action League.
"As Congress moves forward with plans to defund Planned Parenthood, citizens will speak up in support of this action on Saturday, Feb. 11. Groups will gather outside nearly 200 Planned Parenthood facilities across the country and the nation's capital for #DefundPP rallies," a statement from the coalition said on Monday.
Planned Parenthood officials allege that abortions only make up three percent of the services they offer, but some pro-life groups say abortions make up 94 percent of the organization’s services. Recently, an undercover investigation revealed that most Planned Parenthood facilities do not provide ultrasounds like they claim to do.
The organization currently receives over $500 million annually in federal funding. Many pro-life taxpayers want to defund Planned Parenthood so that their tax dollars to not go to support abortion or to an organization that performs abortions.
Recent audits of Planned Parenthood have also found “numerous improper practices.”
