Pro-Life Group Loses Battle to Keep Pro-Life Ads on Buses

A federal court has ruled that a Fort Wayne, Indiana bus system may deny advertisement services to a pro-life women’s health organization.

According to OneNewsNow, Women’s Health Link, a pro-life referral service, wanted to advertise on the buses of Fort Wayne’s bus system, Citilink.

However, when Citilink denied Women’s Health Link their request to advertise their services on Citilink buses, the court ruled on January 5 that Citilink has the right to refuse to feature advertisements for the services provided by Women's Health Link.

Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Jonathan Scruggs says Women’s Health Link is unsure whether to appeal the case since the federal court ruled in favor of Citilink without a full trial.

Scruggs says the court’s ruling shows that Women’s Health Link’s First Amendment rights are not being honored.

“Of course we disagree with that argument quite vociferously," Scruggs tells OneNewsNow.

The federal judge ruled that Citilink has a history of refusing advertisements that address political, moral, or religious issues, and that it is legal for the company to refuse such advertisements.
