Poll: Two-Thirds of Republicans Oppose Gay Marriage Ruling

About two-thirds of Republicans do not believe that legalizing gay marriage was the right decision, according to a new poll.

Reuters and Ipsos polled 3,632 people online. They found that 63 percent of Republican respondents said that they believed the Supreme Court did not come to the correct ruling when it decided to legalize gay marriage across the U.S.

Reuters now speculates that Republican presidential candidates that have voiced an opposition to gay marriage will be more likely to receive the Republican nomination.

Presidential candidate Scott Walker has called for constitutional amendment that would grant individual states the right to define marriage.

Christian Today reports 42 percent of Republican survey-takers agreed with Walker.
