Pat Robertson: ISIS Beheadings Could be 'the Best Thing That Ever Happened to the World'

Televangelist Pat Robertson turned heads this week when he suggested that the atrocities committed by ISIS could be ‘the best thing that ever happened to the world.” Robertson, who hosts “The 700 Club,” said that ISIS beheadings and acts of violence showed the true colors of Islam.

"Maybe the best thing that ever happened to the world is for these crazies in ISIS to keep on beheading people and doing some of these extreme things," Robertson said.

"Listen, you've heard all this business about Islam being a religion of peace. Islam does not mean 'peace', it means 'submission.'"

Christian Today reports Robertson made the comments while promoting his new book, “Islam: Religion of Peace or War?”

At the same time, President Obama insisted that the fight against ISIS is not a war on the Islamic religion.

"In order for us to defeat terrorist groups like ISIL and al-Qaeda, we must discredit their ideology," Obama said this week.

"Ideologies are not defeated with guns, they are defeated by better ideas. We will never be at war with Islam."
