Pastors and Friends of Tullian Tchividjian Say He is Permanently Disqualified from Ministry

Pastors and friends of former pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church Tullian Tchividjian have released a statement saying that Tchividjian should be disqualified from ministry due to his extramarital affairs and his apparent lack of repentance.

According to ChristianToday.com, Tchividjian admitted to an extramarital affair last summer. His wife also reportedly had an affair, and the couple got divorced soon after.

After leaving Coral Ridge, Tchividjian was hired by Willow Creek Church to serve in a non-ministry position. However, he was also fired by Willow Creek after news of another affair surfaced.

Since that time, women have come forward, testifying to Tchividjian's behavior, with one woman even accusing him of “grooming” her.

Now, a group of “pastors and friends” has released a statement, calling for Tchividjian to be disqualified from ministry.

"In as much as Tullian Tchividjian has habitually and impenitently used his public platform, his family's good name, and the name of Christ for his own selfish ends, we believe that he has disqualified himself from any form of public vocational ministry,” reads the statement.

The statement continues, calling Tchividjian to repent:

“For the sake of his eternal soul, we implore Tullian Tchividjian to repent of his wickedness and demonstrate his repentance by submitting himself to the leadership of his church of membership, pursuing forgiveness, healing, and reconciliation with those whom he has sinned against.”
