Obama: No Mention of Islam in Comments on Paris Attacks

In his remarks on the Paris terrorist attacks on Friday, President Obama did not make any mention of Islam.

Christian Today reports that, even though the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks and attackers were heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” as they killed over 100 civilians, the President said he does not want to “speculate.”

In his brief address, Obama described the attacks as a “heartbreaking situation.” He also expressed sympathy for France.

"Obviously those of us here in the United States know what it's like,” he said. “We've gone through these kinds of episodes ourselves.”

"We're going to do whatever it takes to work with the French people and with nations around the world to bring these terrorists to justice, and to go after any terrorist networks that go after our people," Obama continued.

Just before the deadly attacks, Obama had said that ISIS has already been “contained” and that the extremist group was not gaining strength.
