New York Farm that Denied Gay Marriage on Property to Stop Performing All Weddings

A Christian-owned wedding venue in New York was recently fined $13,000 for refusing to host a same-sex wedding on the property. The wedding venue, Liberty Ridge Farm, has now said they will no longer be hosting wedding ceremonies at the location, gay or straight.

Owners Cynthia and Robert Gifford plan to continue to use the property to host wedding receptions, including those for gay couples.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorney James Trainor said, "Going forward, [Cynthia and Robert Gifford] have decided to no longer host any wedding ceremonies on their property...Since the order essentially compelled them to do all ceremonies or none at all, they have chosen the latter in order to stay true to their religious convictions, even though it will likely hurt their business in the short run."

The Giffords will allow the weddings already planned on the property to take place, but are taking no more ceremony bookings.
