Mike Tyson's Abandoned Mansion to be Converted into Church

An Ohio church has announced its plans to convert an abandoned mansion that was formerly owned by Mike Tyson into a ministry center. The property was donated to Living Word Sanctuary.

Relevant reports that Tyson lived in the massive home in Southington during the late 1980s and 1990s. The famous boxer was forced to declare bankruptcy in 1999 after being convicted of rape and serving time in prison.

“How was stumbled upon the place was really God’s grace because we had no intentions of looking...,” said Pastor Nick Dejacimo of Living Word.

In a video, Dejacimo said that church plans to incorporate a sanctuary, classrooms, youth center, children’s area and gym into the mansion.

The church plans to open at the end of this year and hopes that Tyson will attend its first service.
