Man Behind Videos Exposing Planned Parenthood Says Pro-Life Work Strengthens His Faith

David Daleiden is the man behind the five viral videos that exposed Planned Parenthood’s apparent involvement with the sale of fetal organs. The 26-year-old works for the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), a pro-life group that aims to eliminate illegal and unethical practice in the medical field.

In an interview with the National Catholic Register, Daleiden said his pro-life work strengthens his Christian faith.

“Pro-life work brought me closer to the Catholic faith,” Daleiden said. “I grew up in a culturally Catholic home. I was the child of a crisis-pregnancy situation myself; my mother became pregnant with me in her junior year of college and gave birth to me in her senior year. My parents married after her graduation. You can see me as a baby in their wedding pictures.

“When I was about 15, I joined my first pro-life group. It was also as a teen that I discovered the extraordinary form of the Mass and became more serious in my faith.”

Daleiden entered college unsure of what field to pursue, but felt called to continue his work with the pro-life movement.

“I had a passion for pro-life work, and it became clear to me that that is what God wanted me to do. From a Catholic perspective, I think of it as my vocation. When I do this work, it brings me closer to God, the greatest degree of intimacy with the Lord. Since spiritually I was benefitting from pro-life work, I thought I’d focus on doing it full time.”

Life News reports Cecil Richards, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood said Daleiden is “part of the most militant anti-abortion movement that has been behind the bombing of clinics, the murder of doctors in their homes and in their churches, and that’s what actually needs to be looked at.”
