Late-Night Christian Political Comedy Show is Providing Alternative to Mainstream Views

Many late-night shows that use comedy to discuss politics tend to have a liberal slant. Now, a Christian program is hoping to provide late-night political commentary with a comedic twist from a Christian perspective.

Breaking Christian News reports that the show, which launched this week, is called “Next Week with Jeff Durbin.”

Durbin is the pastor of Apologia Church and Apologia Studios. Apologia already has a large following on social media, which Durbin is likely hopeful will kickstart his new television program.

On its Facebook page, “Next Week with Jeff Durbin” describes itself as “the late night show with the unpopular opinion.” Durbin engages with current political and cultural issues like other late-night shows, but he does so with a Christian worldview.

The show features, of course, Jeff Durbin, whose wit will serve him well in bringing comedy to current events. Durbin also is a martial arts champion. The show’s head writer, Chris Wineland, who was a former comedy writer for Jimmy Fallon, also adds his wit to the show.

The show will air every Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST on Facebook Live. It’s first episode aired yesterday. To watch the show in following weeks, click here.
