Kirk Franklin Questions Creflo Dollar's Character over $65 Million Jet Fundraiser

Christian musician Kirk Franklin questioned the character of televangelist Creflo Dollar in a recent blog post. Franklin says Dollar, who started a fundraiser to buy a $65 million jet, needs to get his priorities in order.

The gospel singer wrote, "When a pastor wants people to buy him a private plane while a missionary in Somalia bathes children with sores, that's a shortage of character. When I camouflage my 'greeds' to look like 'needs,' that's a shortage of character."

Charisma News reports Dollar’s campaign asked 200,000 supporters to donate $300 each to afford the plane that was to be used for mission work. The fundraiser was canceled after Dollar received national criticism for the project.

Franklin wrote, "I agree you cannot legislate morality in our culture, but you cannot avoid holding people accountable. You can't let people slide by just because they are charismatic and can 'kill' a room. We don't have a shortage of greatness, we have a shortage of character."
