The four-day siege at the Westgate shopping center in Nairobi came to an end on Tuesday. The Kenyan government confirmed that 61 civilians and six soldiers died. Kenyan security forces killed five of the attackers and took 11 suspects into custody. Three days of mourning started on Wednesday. Open Doors USA listed several prayer requests for Kenya: "Thanks to the Lord that the siege has been brought to an end; God’s comfort for all those who lost loved ones in the siege and for the wounded; wisdom for the government in its handling of follow-up of the attack; and peace."
