J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis' Friendship Will Be Subject of New Film

A film about the friendship of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis is in the works reports Bedlam Magazine. The British writers are most famous for The Lord of the Rings series (Tolkien) and The Chronicles of Narnia series (Lewis), but the writers were also competitive colleagues and friends.

The movie is to be called Tolkien and Lewis and will be produced by the UK company Attractive Films.; Simon West is set to direct the film.

Attractive Films describes the movie to be “a drama fantasy set in war-torn Britain in 1941 revealing the faith, friendship, and rivalry between J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.”

According to Bedlam Magazine, it was the Catholic Tolkien who brought Lewis back to Christianity. It was after Lewis returned to the faith that his Narnia series based on Christian themes became bestsellers.
