Gay Rights Protester Blames Evangelicals for Orlando Shooting

A protester disrupted a press conference to blame evangelicals for the Orlando shooting that took the lives of 49 people and injured 53 others.

According to SRNNews.com, the gay rights protester disrupted a press conference being held by leading evangelicals who had met with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in New York.

The woman alleged that the evangelicals had made it possible for the Orlando shooting to occur because of their hatred toward gays.

“Your hate is killing us,” she said. “Your lies are killing us. You all are responsible for the hateful environment that created the attack in Orlando.”

Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, a group whose leaders had met with Trump, disagreed with the woman’s statement.

Perkins said that “No American, regardless of your political ideology or your life choices, should be living under the threat of a terrorist attack on the streets of the United States of America.”

Perkins also said he believes Trump would agree with this view.
