Franklin Graham on the Next President: ‘I Pray it Will be Someone Who Will Listen to our Generals, Admirals, and the CIA’

The Rev. Franklin Graham said on his Facebook page that he hopes the next president of the United States will support and build up the U.S. military.

“Our military has been cut back – and held back – by the current Administration," Graham writes.

"By some analyses, the U.S. military is at its weakest since the end of World War II, while the threats against us are increasing. Whoever the next president of the United States ends up being, I pray it will be someone who will listen to our generals, admirals, and the CIA," he continues.

Graham says he hopes the next president will build up the military to protect the country and its “dearly held freedoms.”

“These freedoms are what the Islamists hate and want to take away,” writes Graham. “They hate the God of the Bible, and they hate those who follow Him. If you're an American, they hate you whether you're a liberal or conservative. They want you to be subject to Sharia law and the god they worship. The god of Islam requires followers to die for him."

Graham also wrote about the GOP debate Thursday and commented on interrogation tactics such as waterboarding, saying that though there are many legal considerations for such a tactic, one thing is certain: the American military needs to be strengthened to defend the country and the freedom of Americans.
