Franklin Graham Explains Why He is Speaking Out Against Secularism while His Father Did Not

Franklin Graham spoke out against secular humanism in the United States in a speech at the Oklahoma State Evangelism Conference. The President of both the Billy Graham Evangelical Association and non-profit Samaritan’s Purse said that times have changed and politicians cannot save us, Breaking Christian News reports.

Graham said, "Now I'm not talking about Baptists or Republicans and the Tea Party. I have no confidence that any of these politicians or any party is going to turn this country around. The only hope for this country is for men and women of God to stand up and take a stand."

Graham said that Christians need to pursue politics in order to turn the United States around, something that Billy Graham never addressed.

The son of Billy Graham explained why he needed to confront secularism in the nation saying, "Well, you say, 'No Franklin, your father wouldn't get onto these subjects.’ Wait a second. My father, when he was going to school, they had a Bible in school. When he was going to school, they had the Ten Commandments on the wall. When he was going to school, you could pray in school, and the teachers would lead in those prayers.

"Our country has changed. And we've got to take a stand."

Graham pointed his audience in the direction of Christ to change the secularist culture of the nation.

"There is only one who can save. Only one. Jesus Christ,” he said.
