Franklin Graham Criticizes Obama for Transgender Bathroom Directive: 'Who Does He Think He is?'

Franklin Graham criticized President Obama’s decision to direct public schools to allow transgender students to choose the bathroom that corresponds to their gender identity.

“Who does President Barack Obama think he is? The sultan of Washington?” Graham wrote on his Facebook page. “Does he think he can just make a ‘decree’ and we will bow down and simply obey?”

Although White House press secretary Josh Earnest said last week that the decree is “guidance” and not a threat, Graham said if schools don’t comply with the order, then they could lose federal funding.

“This opens up bathrooms to sexual predators and perverts. A decree does not carry the force of law–that's the job of Congress,” he said.

“The president obviously must have no fear of God, who made us and created us male and female. I hope that school districts across this nation will defy President Obama and his administration’s radical progressive agenda to promote and advance the sin of homosexuality and the LGBT agenda,” he added.

Meanwhile, Denny Burk, professor of biblical studies at Boyce College and associate pastor at Kenwood Baptist Church, called the directive “jaw-dropping.”

“It is absurd and wrong,” he wrote. “And I wonder if this may not be a bridge too far even for people who are otherwise liberal. Are fathers going to be okay with their daughters undressing in locker rooms where boys can see them? No matter how much one may support President Obama, what dad would go along with this?”
