Egyptian Terrorists Claim They Have Joined Forces with ISIS

A video message claiming to be from Ansar Beit al-Maqdis (ABM), a powerful terrorist organization in Egypt alleges that the group has joined forces with ISIS.

ABM is based out of Sinai and is responsible for killing hundreds of Egyptian police officers and soldiers. CNN reports that there could be as many as 1,000 active ABM members.

The group previously targeted only the Egyptian government, but a connection to ISIS would expand the group’s threat farther.

The video posted on YouTube condemns Jews and their allies for Muslim persecution and refers to ISIS as “the emergence of a new dawn.”

The video has not yet been verified by officials but U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said that it will be assessed by the proper authorities for authenticity.
