Donations Flood in for Emanuel AME and Other Black Churches in Charleston

Donations are pouring in from across the country to support the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church and other black churches in the Charleston area. The Emanuel AME Church was the site of a devastating shooting that claimed the lives of nine church members last week.

Fox News reports benevolent strangers are sending checks to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund and the Reverend Pinckney Fund to benefit the historic church and the families of victims.

The donations have not yet been totalled, as the checks continue to come in.

Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is known to be one of the generous supporters. Richardson reportedly gave Emanuel AME $10,000 and $10,000 to each of the victims’ families, a total of $100,000.
