Donald Trump Scores First-Place Win in Nevada Caucuses

Donald Trump snagged a win in Tuesday’s (Feb. 23) Nevada caucus. The Republican presidential candidate ran away with 45.9 percent of the vote. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz lagged behind with 23.9 percent and 21.4 percent respectively, according to CNN.

After his landslide victory, the billionaire business mogul said, "We love Nevada. We will be celebrating for a long time tonight."

"We weren't expected to win too much and now we're winning, winning, winning the country," he continued. "And soon the country is going to start winning, winning, winning."

"We won the evangelicals. We won with young. With won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated."

Speaking on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Trump explained his plans for the country if named president.

"First thing is knock out some of the executive orders done by our president… One, on border where people can pour into (the) country like Swiss cheese. I would knock out Obamacare. Take care of our vets and military,” he said.

Second-place finisher Marco Rubio said that the Republican field needs to be narrowed in order to defeat Trump.

"Until there's some consolidation here, you're not going to have a clear alternative to Donald Trump," he said. “If we don't come together, we're never going to be able to provide a clear alternative to the direction that Donald Trump wants to take the Republican Party and the country."
