Boko Haram 'Incorporates Itself' with ISIS in Beheading Video

Terrorist group Boko Haram is reportedly following the example of ISIS, as a Boko Haram member beheaded two men in a recent propaganda video.

Christian Today reports that the video, called “Harvest of Spies,” shows a terrorist standing over two men who allegedly spied on the group; the next scene displays the men’s decapitated bodies.

Officials are now concerned that Boko Haram is not merely copying ISIS’ acts of brutality, but connecting itself with the other terror group through the beheading demonstration.

Terrorism Research and Analysis Consortium editorial director Veryan Khan told Fox News that the beheading video "shows Boko Haram is not a mere copycat of ISIS; rather, it is incorporating itself into the Islamic State.”

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau had previously stated his approval for ISIS acts of terrorism.

Christian Solidarity Worldwide team leader for Africa and the Middle East Dr. Khataza Gondwe told Christian Today, "Boko Haram has always asserted its links to the international jihadist movement, and has said it received training from Somalia and Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). There have always been links [with other jihadi groups].

"Shekau acclaimed the Caliphate [Islamic State], and each group seems to be emulating or adopting tactics of the other."
