Lousiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has announced his campaign for presidency in a personal video. TIME Magazine reports the Republican candidate secretly film a video of he and his wife telling their three children that he planned to run.
“Mommy and Daddy have been thinking and praying a lot about this and we have decided we are going to be running for president this year,” Jindal said in the video.
Jindal is expected to make a formal speech announcing his campaign at 5 p.m.
The politician is the son of Indian immigrants and not shy about his Catholic faith, reports The Washington Post.
Jindal is the 13th Republican to announce a presidential bid; the most recent polls show he has 1 percent support from GOP voters.
