Bibles for China Renewing Efforts for Chinese New Year

Ministry organization Bibles for China is excited for the new opportunities the Chinese New Year presents to share the Gospel.

Chinese New Year takes place on Jan. 28. During this huge celebration, many Chinese people go back home to be reunited with their families.

Bibles for China is hoping and praying that their efforts distributing Bibles in the past year will have an impact when families are together over the holiday in houses where there are Bibles.

“Bibles for China is really happy this year because we believe there’s a lot of homes where families will be together that, for the first time, these homes have a Bible,” said Wendell Rovenstine of Bibles for China.

“There will be families that come home this year during the Chinese New Year,” he continued, “and as they all get together to make dumplings and serve dumplings at the end of the festival, before the children and the families leave to go home, that God’s Word will have been there.”

Despite the restrictions China has placed on Christian ministry, Rovenstine remains optimistic that in 2017, God will continue to use Bibles for China to accomplish His work and spread the Gospel.

To that end, the ministry has several new strategies for the new year.

“One of the things we’re going to be doing in 2017 is we hear from the Chinese leaders that we work with, ‘We have a great need for leadership training materials,’” said Rovenstine.

Because of this, the ministry plans to partner with ministries like EQUIP to better prepare Christian leaders in China.
