At Least 43 Dead in Paris Terrorist Attacks

Dozens of people are dead in Paris after multiple attacks occurred simultaneously across the city late Friday (Nov. 13). The attacks appear to be a coordinated effort of terrorists.

CNN reports at least six shootings occurred in locations around the city, killing at least 43 people. The Stade de France was bombed while packed with fans at a soccer match, including French president, François Hollande. The president was evacuated from the stadium to safety.

Gunmen also entered the Bataclan theater, where American band Eagles of Death Metal were performing. The terrorists are reportedly holding those inside the concert hall hostage, about 100 people total.

One witness claimed that the gunmen were shouting “Allahu akbar,” or “God is the greatest.”

President Hollande has closed the borders to France.
