Abortion Clinics Closes Doors, Reopens as Pro-life Pregnancy Center

“To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory” (Isaiah 61:3).

God is in the business of bringing beauty from ashes. An example of this can be seen in an abortion clinic in Manassas, Virginia that closed its doors, but reopened as a pro-life pregnancy center.

According to The Stream, the Amethyst Health Center for Women closed in 2015. The property was purchased by a group of Catholic businessmen and the facility will now be reopening as Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic--a place that will offer basic medical care and will minister to pregnant women.

“Two years ago, a group of Catholic entrepreneurs in the Manassas area purchased the facility with the agreement that the abortion clinic would cease operations,” announced Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington. “Wanting to serve the needy in the community, they turned to Catholic Charities, asking if we could transform the use of the space.” The diocese added that the clinic would “offer a form of redemption” to the space that had once served “such a sad and dark purpose.”

The Amethyst clinic was in business for 27 years, and throughout those years, pro-life advocates often protested and prayed outside the clinic.

It looks like their prayers have been answered!
