Thank you for visiting Christian Headlines.

The Editor

My name is Barry Bowen. I live in Asheville, North Carolina, work in the Christian film industry, publish Christian Headlines in my spare time and attend Skyland Baptist Church.

Purpose

During my teen years I discovered the Christian youth-oriented Cornerstone magazine. The reading of articles about new Christian albums, missionaries, and book reviews broadened my perspective of global Christianity.

My prayer is that Christian Headlines will be used in the same way and that the articles would challenge Christians to develop an interest in world missions and use the information for prayer and service.

History

In 1998, I started Crosslight.com, a precursor to Christian Headlines. The original focus of the website was to promote Christian films. A cross light is often used to light an actor's face from the side. The second idea behind the name was that Jesus Christ's death on the Cross is like a spotlight that shows the love of God for humankind.

The format of the website changed over time. After visiting the website Macsurfer.com, I decided to adopt a similar format and focused on news of interest to Christians.

In 2000, the Canadian company Crosslight Software showed interest in aquiring the Crosslight.com domain name and that year the website switched to the new name Christianheadlines.com.

Getting Involved

On July 16, 2005 Christian Headlines re-launched as an automated website with the intention of allowing Christians from around the world to access the database and publish article links. If you are interested in publishing article links, please send me a short note via my email form.

Also, Christian Headlines is interested in publishing headlines from more Christian news websites. Minimum requirements:
